Rare earth polishing powder, also
known as ceria polishing powder, refers to the polishing powder mostly composed
of ceria. The main constituent of ceria polishing powder is ceria, followed by
lanthanum oxide, and praseodymium oxide, in addition to a smaller amount of
silicon oxide, and calcium oxide, In addition, some types of polishing powder
add 3% fluorine to provide a polishing presentation. It is typically made from
lanthanum, rare earth chloride, or cerium rare earth carbonate by chemical
treatment, crushing, and screening.

The high the concentration is, the high the polishing speed is. When using
smaller particle polishing powder, the slurry absorption should be adjusted
properly.
